A major fire broke at the RK Studios in Chembur around 2:30 PM on Saturday and leaving the structure severely damaged but Firefighters arrived on the spot at 2:37 PM and no injuries have been reported. The fire broke out because of the inflammable decoration equipment which stored inside the premises.  Fortunately no one was there on the set at that time and around 11 fire tenders were rushed there at the studios so the fire was brought under control. After the incident, Rishi Kapoor expressed his grief about the “fire breakout” on his Twitter account.

Rishi Kapoor wrote, “Sad a major fire broke out at RK Studios. We have lost the iconic Stage 1. Thankfully no causalities nor injuries. All you concerns appreciated and A studio can be built again but the loss of irreplaceable memorabilia and costumes of all RK Films, is tragic for all. Fire took it away.”

After the incident, many bollywood celebrities have expressed their grieve the the loss of irreplaceable things.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The popular RK studio was initially founded and set up in 1948 by Raj Kapoor. Some iconic films such as ‘Aag’, ‘Barsaat’, ‘Awaara’, ‘Shri 420’, ‘Jis Desh Mein Ganga Behti Hai’, ‘Mera Naam Joker’, ‘Bobby’, ‘Satyam Shivam Sundaram’, and ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’ were made under the RK Studios banner but no film has been shot since, the release of 1999 film, ‘Aa Ab Laut Chalen’.
