Pakistani Film Saawan dropped from the IFFI. The film, which was the official submission at the 48th International Film Festival of India is no more in the final programming.
The film Saawan’s maker Farhan Alam received a letter from the festival Director Sunit Tandon on October 26, 2017. The letter stating that, “The International Film Festival of India was honoured to present your film”. The letter invited Farhan Alam at the festival to interact with the audience.
But on November 4, 2017, Alam got the email from senior programmer Deepika Suseelan. Email says that, “The film could not be accommodated and unaqble to showcase due to scheduling constraints.
And at last one more film Saawan is not going to be featured in the International Film Festival of India.
But apart from IFFI, Film has also made submission for All Lights India Film Festival. This festival is going to be held from December 1-4, in Hyderabad.
The 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) starts today in Panaji, Goa. From Indian to International film personalities, this film festival has witnessed them all.
The festival will see the some finest actors, writers, filmmakers and producers taking center stage. The Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan will inaugurate the festival, while actor Salman Khan will grace the closing ceremony of festival.
The festival is going to present the 195 films from over 82 countries. There will be over 64 Indian premieres, 10 Asian and International premieres and 10 World Premieres as a part of the official program.
