The Australian captain feels that Buttler has taken over MS Dhoni
Australia could not have performed any poorer than this or we can say it the other way around that the the England cricket team is probably on the top of their form. Winning any series 5-0 is never easy against Australia even if it is a ‘B’ team.
Jos Buttler’s last match-winning century was incredible; he has earned the praise from cricket pundits all across the world. Although the hosts had only 206 to chase but the Aussie bowlers did pretty well to leave Buttler slog along with the tailenders.
In his praise, Tim Paine said that “He’s good; he’s very good,” Paine said of Buttler. “Right now, at the moment, he’d have to be the best white-ball wicket-keeper batsman in the world. I don’t think there are too many guys to challenge him.MS Dhoni is pretty good, but right at this moment, Jos is at the absolute peak of his powers. He understands his one-day game so well and knows his strengths inside out and just doesn’t go away from him.”
The Aussie skipper further went on to say that the likes of D’Arcy Short and Travis Head could learn from the English batters. “He’s someone for our batters to watch and see firsthand. Those experiences are going to be really good for D’Arcy Short or Travis Head to see him and Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy at their best.” said Paine.
After his spectacular performance, Buttler talked about his mindset when he was batting, on this he gave a hint that he was thinking of the former Indian captain MS Dhoni. “It’s right up there with my best performances. I was calm, I was imagining what MS Dhoni would do” said Jos.
Many cricket Pundits, have called this innings from his as his best and he has also earned the reputation of the finest wicket-keeper batsman in limited overs cricket.
