Well generally after retirement most of the people in this world love to take rest at home and reading newspaper or may be working hard to make their journey to heaven comfortable. But this 60-year-old young man Sharat Sharma chose to chase his dreams of traveling the world and that to solo. sharma always had that quest to explore the world and get more out of life. After his retirement from the post of editor of Times of India. he started his planning to explore the world on his solo motorbike trip. And finally, the day of his age-old dream came on 18th March 2018. when he embarked on his motorbike. His solo trip was flagged off from Sri Ganesh Apartment SEC 7 at 10: 30 AM. Sharat Sharma is on his mission to cover 27,000 kilometers on a bike criss crossing National Highways and dusty lanes of all the 29 states, union territories and neighboring countries like Bhutan, Sharat Sharma’s wife B Mangalam has also supported him in this journey who is a professor in Delhi University.
He has planned to cover this distance is in 180 days, he wishes to connect to the ground realities of our country. According to Mr. Sharma, he has two messages for the world first one is that age is just a number and the second one is on road safety and for bikers who are nowadays very irresponsible and rash drives a lot ” he says motorbike is for all age group and everyone should enjoy their ride with discipline and safety . since there has been a sharp increase in the number of accidents and fatalities involving motorbikers, I wish to propagate the joy of riding responsibly ” and we are pretty sure he will be back with some phenomenal memories to tell his grandchildren unlike ones who tell them stories about Lord Rama and his brutalities with his wife and while delivering these stories feeling proud about their culture.
The team of Kachcha Chittha wishes you a happy journey.
