Rashid has had an amazing IPL this year

19-year old Afghanistan all-rounder, Rashid Khan is probably in the form of his life. Khan was simply the toughest bowler to face and this has been admitted by hard hitters like Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul.  He shook the KKR team in the second Qualifier at the Eden Gardens. His all-round performance earned him alot of praise.
Even Sachin Tendulkar tweeted that he is the best T20 bowler in the world at the moment. To this Rashid expressed his delight and said that  “When I got into the bus, a friend sent me a screenshot of the tweet and I was shocked to see it. I was thinking for like 1-2 hours before I could eventually reply. I really didn’t know what to write, but finally I replied,”

Khan also explained that his fellow countrymen must have seen the tweet by the little master.

“The whole of Afghanistan seemed to have seen that tweet. Tendulkar is very, very famous there and everyone was surprised that he had such high praise for me. Statements like these motivate young players,” said a happy Rashid.

He ended the IPL-11 on number two in the list of highest wickets in the season. He picked up 21 wickets and troubled probably the best players of spin bowling in world cricket.
He expressed that “Getting rid of Virat (Kohli), AB (de Villiers) and MS Dhoni was very satisfying. In fact, I consider them the best wickets of my career so far. They are really good players of spin bowling so getting them out made it memorable for me.”
According to TOI, when asked whether he enjoys the fame IPL has provided him and how people back home loved him so much, a shy youngster replied that  “As far as I know, after the President of the country, maybe, I am the person who is most popular in Afghanistan.”
Just, yesterday he was awarded with the Best T20 bowler of the year award and now he is all set to play against India in his nation’s first ever Test match.  On this, he looked happy to play against India in India as it was a big thing for a new born Test playing nation.
“It’s a big match for us as playing Tests is a dream for every cricket-playing nation. All of us who are selected for that match will consider ourselves lucky. After all, we will be making history. And, it doesn’t get bigger than the fact that we will be playing India in India.” explained the 19-year old.
