After much anticipation about Rajinikanth’s upcoming blockbuster Kaala is finally going to be released on 7th June, 2018. The controversy faced by the movie was because of the superstar’s appeal to the centre to implement the Supreme Court’s order on constituting Cauvery water Management Board.
Even before this many of his movies had to face a same kind of plight due to the statements made by him in the public making a large group of community against him. This time it was due to pro-Kannada protestors accusing him of making anti-Kannada remarks.
Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy said, “It has come to my attention (the demand for a ban on Kaala). The people of Karnataka and the Karnataka Film Chambers of Commerce don’t want Kaala to release here. A few pro-Kannada organizations have also requested me not to allow Kaala release. I will consider it and make a decision.”
Kaala is written and directed by Pa Ranjith. Dhanush being the producer of the movie with Rajinikanth in the lead role came ahead during the fiasco and made a plea in the Karnataka HC along with his wife which stated that it is the fundamental right of the petitioners to get the movie released.
Karnataka HC has decided to not to interfere in the ban imposed by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) on the movie. On the other hand it has declared that the theater owners screening the film and the movie owners should be provided with apt security. Finally, the apex Supreme Court has given a green flag for the movie to be released on 7th June, 2018 without any further hassle.
The support was seen to be coming from Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council Chief Vishal and actor Prakash Raj. Both have come forward to help in the matter and allow the movie to be released in good conditions.
