Arjun Tendulkar has been selected for the U-19 squad which will tour Sri Lanka
The little master’s son Arjun Tendulkar has been selected for the U-19 team which will be traveling to Sri Lanka for 4-day matches and limited overs games. The captain of the side is Aryan Juyal, who was also a part of the U-19 World Cup-winning squad.
Akram had stated that “He’s very enthusiastic about his cricket, “He had a lot of questions for him and is very passionate about the game, and that is always a good sign.”
The talented Mumbaikar is a left-arm medium pace bowler and bats too. His role in the playing XI will be interesting to see as all-rounders always come in handy. It is also seen that Arjun can regularly click 135+ and he has been a member of the U-14, U-16 and U-19 teams which play for Mumbai.
His coach is Subroto Banerjee and he is pretty much confident about the future of his confident lad. The coach feels that he has immense potential and he will make a big name in world cricket.
In a chat with India Today, Banerjee stated that I am very very happy for him. When he began succeeding as a fast bowler, Sachin asked me to have a look at him and I worked with me for two and half years. He was giving everything he had. I am not surprised with his selection. He gets a very good shape and the ball travels. This is just the beginning.”
Arjun could not take part in the inaugural Mumbai T20 league due to back injuries. About this, the coach seemed pretty much relaxed and expressed that his physical growth had a lot to do with that and there is nothing to worry about.
