Ambati Rayudu played a dream role in the success CSK had this year.
The highest, run scorer for this year’s champion IPL franchise (CSK). Scoring 602 runs in 16 games, this year at an amazing average of 43. These are the numbers of none other than Ambati Rayudu. He played so well that he earned the title of ‘Bahubali’ and it was all over CSK’s social media handle. Ambati was not retained by Mumbai Indians and CSK made the most of it by getting him for 2.20 crores.
Ambati has now revealed the reason for his success. On a youtube talk show by the name of
‘Quick Heal Bhajji Blast’ Ambati told told Harbhajan that he takes a bat from Indian captain Virat Kohli every year.
Rayudu said in hindi that “Har saal ek bat leta hu Virat se, usko bhi maloom ho gaya ki tashan hai. Is saal to gaali deke diya hai (I take a bat from Virat every year. Even he now knows how I want to show it off. This time, in fact, he swore before giving me a bat.”
The turbanator has shared quite some time with Rayudu in the dressing room. They were team mates at the Mumbai Indians also. Bhajji revealed that Ambati doesn’t keep a cell phone with him. On this Ambati explained that “Because when I am thinking about something and a call comes, my thinking stops. Therefore, I don’t keep phones,”
Ambati expressed that he learnt alot from the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Pointing at the Mumbai Indians. Whereas VVS Laxman was whom he followed in his childhood days.
“Laxman was my idol while growing up. When I came to Mumbai Indians, I learned a lot from Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting. What I like about Paaji (Sachin) is that he is still such a humble person. Even after achieving so much, he says he is still learning,” stated the right-hander.
