Earlier titled as fbb Femina Miss India Tamil Nadu 2018, Anukreethy Vas has now also been crowned as Miss India World 2018 at the fbb Colors Femina Miss India 2018. Anukreethy Vas is a 19-year-old resident of Tamil Nadu is pursuing B.A. in French from Chennai’s Loyola College. Raised by a single mother, she is now going to represent India on many international level events like Miss World 2018. She has interest in acting and modeling in the future.
The position of first runner-up was grabbed by Meenakshi Choudhary also titled as fbb Colors Femina Miss India Haryana 2018. She is doing her Bachelors in Dental Surgery at present.
The second runner-up is Shreya Rao Kamavarapu, fbb Colors Femina Miss India Andhra Pradesh 2018. She is an architect and is currently working as a Head Strategic Planner in an architecture firm in Hyderabad.
Both the runner-ups are going to represent India at Miss Grand International 2018 and Miss United Continents 2018 respectively.
The event 55th Femina Miss India 2018 pageant was held at Dome, NSCI stadium. The winners were crowned by the previous year winners Manushi Chillar (Miss World 2017), Sana Dua (Miss United Continents 2017) and Priyanka Kumari (Miss Intercontinental 2017) respectively. The contestants were judged by former Miss India Manushi Chillar, cricketers K L Rahul and Irfan Pathan, actors Bobby Deol, Kunal Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan, Bollywood’s top fashion designer Gaurav Gupta and Indian journalist Faye D’Souza. The show had 30 contestants competing for the position. All were divided into four groups according to the region and had a mentor each. Neha Dhupia (Femina Miss India 2002) for North Zone, Rakul Preet Singh (Femina Miss India 2011-Runner-up) for South Zone, Pooja Chopra (Miss India World 2009) for East Zone and Pooja Hegde (Miss Universe India 2010) for West Zone.
The show was massive and glamorous as always, laced with beauty, elegance, and grandeur. Director Karan Johar and actor Ayushmann Khurana were the ones who hosted the show with their wit and sarcastic charisma. The event was also glammed up with performances on Bollywood numbers by Jacqueline Fernandez, Kareena Kapoor and the legendary Madhuri Dixit who was also crowned by the Femina Miss India 2018.
