The third ODI, which was played between England and Australia took the world by a storm. Australia won the toss and chose to bowl first, they would have regretted this decision throughout the English innings.
England went on to score 481/6 after the end of 50 overs. Alex Hales top scored with 147 (92) and Jonny Bairstow scored 139 off 92 balls. The pair shared 10 sixes and 32 fours between them. Jason Roy also helped with a flyer as he scored 82 (61).
Captain Eoin Morgan played a fiery innings of 67 off just 30 balls, during this innings he also became the highest run scorer in ODIs for England and now he has 5,443 runs to his name in 180 games. In return, the hosts got England out for 239 in just 37 matches.
To this, former spin bowling great Shane Warne seemed very disappointed as he expressed him anger on Twitter. The former leggie wrote that “Just woke up and saw the score in England. What the hell happened over there & what is going on boys ? Gulp…..”,
On the other hand, former captain Micheal Clarke expressed his disappointment by putting up emojis, that of a ball-ball and a boy hitting his head. Here is Clarke’s tweet:
The match was played at Trent Bridge and the English cricketers expressed their delight, Jonny Bairstow said that “It was amazing, this ground is a special ground for us. It always tends to bring something exciting — what a pitch it is.”
The top scorer Alex Hales felt that there were talks of 500 runs being scored as England captain Morgan was going all guns blazing. “We’ve had some great memories here as a team and today is another special day. “The 500 was murmured when Morg (Morgan) came out but we just couldn’t get there,” said Alex Hales.
Australian cricket is going through a rough patch and they would want to save their pride by giving their best in the next two matches.
